Opening February at The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime

This February, The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime invites you to slow down, look closer, and see yourself in the art. REFLECTIONS is a collaborative art exhibition featuring artists from The Bazaar alongside our neighbors at Creative Liberties, coming together for an immersive exploration of perspective, identity, and interpretation.
Through paint, photography, and mixed media, artists examine what it means to reflect. On ourselves, on our communities, on the world around us. Some works mirror the visible. Others reveal what’s hidden just beneath the surface. All of them ask you to pause and consider what you see… and why.
REFLECTIONS: A Community Art Exhibition celebrates connection, collaboration, and the beautifully different ways artists respond to a shared theme. Expect bold ideas, thoughtful pieces, and a space buzzing with creative energy.

Barbara Gerdeman
Myakka Summer Reflections
Original photograph, framed 20” x 20” | $145
Barbara Gerdeman is a Florida-based artist and co-founder of Creative Liberties whose work is deeply rooted in the natural world. She finds constant inspiration in Florida’s landscapes, particularly the quiet drama of Myakka River State Park.
Myakka Summer Reflections captures a moment of stillness where light, water, and environment come together effortlessly. The piece reflects Barbara’s patience behind the lens and her love of observing nature as it reveals itself. Sometimes carefully composed, sometimes unexpectedly perfect. It’s a visual meditation on place, presence, and the subtle reflections found outdoors.

Henry Martin
Mirror Mirror
Photography, giclée print on canvas. Framed | $200
Henry Martin has been part of the Creative Liberties community for the past three years. His photographic work often plays with perception, perspective, and visual dialogue.
Mirror Mirror directly engages with the theme of REFLECTIONS, both conceptually and visually. Printed as a giclée on canvas, the piece invites viewers to consider what is being reflected and what may be obscured. It’s a thoughtful exploration of identity, symmetry, and the layered meanings behind what we see.

Teresa Stone, The Gypsy Gardener
The Flash

Steve Schwartz
Modern Still Life in Blue and Orange
Monotype print | $175
Steve Schwartz’s artistic practice is shaped by a lifetime of exploration across many disciplines. Each chapter informs his approach to art today. Now working out of studios in Pennsylvania and Sarasota, Steve focuses on contemporary work that embraces experimentation and process.
Modern Still Life in Blue and Orange is a vibrant monotype print featuring seven vases or bottles set against a layered blue and teal background. Pops of orange add contrast and energy, while the monotype process creates rich textures and spontaneous, one-of-a-kind results. Familiar forms are reimagined through color and movement, reflecting both transformation and balance.

Sarasota Lake #3 is an oil painting depicting a lake in East Sarasota, rendered with attention to light, atmosphere, and calm. The work reflects a moment of pause, capturing the reflective surface of water and the emotional stillness of the scene. It’s a reminder that reflection doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it rests quietly in the familiar places we pass every day.

Lee Oberlander’s Spring Fragrance is an acrylic and mixed media painting that celebrates renewal, movement, and seasonal transition. The piece layers color and texture to evoke the sensory experience of spring. Fresh, lively, and full of quiet energy.

The Queen of Pop Art takes her bright colors and style to this large canvas. The diver reflects on taking the next step. Is it a step towards a new chapter in life or merely into the pool? It leaves one to ponder and reminds us to enjoy every step of the way.
