The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime hosted a Motown show on Saturday, Nov. 22nd that brought the crowd together for an unforgettable night of music, food, and fun. The energy was electric as The Soul Sensations took the stage, delivering classic hits from Motown legends like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and The Temptations. This celebration of timeless soul music was paired perfectly with delicious offerings from Hamlet’s Eatery, creating the perfect experience for all who came.

The Soul Sensations Bring Motown to Life

From the moment the first notes filled the air, it was clear this was going to be a night to remember. The Soul Sensations delivered a vibrant, soulful performance that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along. Their setlist featured beloved songs such as “Supersitution” by Stevie Wonder “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye, and “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra. Each song was performed with passion and precision, transporting the crowd back to the golden era of Motown.

At the heart of the band is its talented leader, Randall Morgan. A tenor-baritone who has been singing publicly since the age of 11, Randall hails from Gary, Indiana — the same hometown as the Jacksons. He began his musical journey playing the clarinet and alto sax before stepping into the spotlight as a vocalist. For nearly 30 years, he fronted the popular Midwest band Raven, sharing stages with legends like Jerry Butler, Dee Clark, Billy Eckstein, The Dells, The Impressions, The Spaniels, and The Ohio Players. After moving to Sarasota, Randall continued his musical passion, performing with the Gulf Coast Community Choir both locally and abroad in Spain and Italy. In 2007, he founded The Soul Sensations, later creating and adapting the 2014 sold-out show From Doo-Wop to Hip Hop. His love for soulful music and dedication to performance were on full display Saturday night.

Attendees shared their excitement about the show. One guest said, “The energy was contagious. It felt like we were all part of something special, celebrating music that never gets old.” Another added, “Being able to have room to dance the night away was amazing! The band really knows how to connect with the audience.”

The band’s ability to engage the crowd created a lively atmosphere that kept spirits high throughout the evening. The mix of soulful vocals, tight harmonies, and upbeat rhythms made it impossible not to dance or smile.
