A Little Louisiana Soul Is Coming to The Bazaar with a Bayou Blues Brunch
Some Saturdays call for slowing down. Order brunch, find a spot to sit, and let the music convince you to stay a little longer than you planned. That’s the kind of Saturday we have in mind for Bayou Blues Brunch this Saturay, October 3, when Saint David of Louisiana joins us at The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime from 11:30 - 2:30.
If you haven’t heard Saint David play yet, you’re in for a treat. His name is David Fowler, and he’s a lifelong musician from Southern Louisiana. He says he tries to bring a piece of his history to every note he plays. You can hear that personal touch in his music: he sings, plays guitar, and moves through folksy, bluesy and jazzy sounds with a style that feels entirely his own.
We could give you a tidy description of his sound, but the fun is hearing what he does with a song. Saint David has a way of making the music feel familiar and surprising at the same time. It’s the kind of performance that makes you pause mid-conversation, turn toward the musician, and say, “Oh, I really like this.”
And what better excuse for a leisurely Saturday? Grab brunch from Hamlet’s Eatery, listen for a while, then wander through The Bazaar. You might come across a shop you’ve never explored, find something made by a local artist, or run into a friend and decide you have time for one more song. That’s usually how the best Bazaar days happen.
