If you’ve ever walked through The Bazaar and suddenly felt like you were being silently judged… don’t worry, it wasn’t another shopper. It was probably the spirit of a very particular tortie named Penny, overseeing her kingdom from afar.
And honestly? She has excellent taste.
A Vendor With Serious Cat Energy
Back in January 2026, Penny’s Catnip Club padded into The Bazaar lineup after owner Kasey Litchfield discovered us the modern way… scrolling for pop-up markets and landing at Limelight Market like a cat landing perfectly on its feet.
From there, it was destiny. Or, at least, very strong feline influence.
A Love Letter to Cats (Finally!) for Cat Lovers
Let’s address the elephant in the pet store: dogs have been winning the merch game for way too long. Endless aisles. Infinite squeaky things. Meanwhile, cat lovers get… a shelf and a half.
Kasey saw the injustice and said, “Not on my watch.”
Penny’s Catnip Club is exactly what it sounds like: A full-blown celebration of cats and the humans who are lucky enough to be owned by them.
Think:
Handmade catnip toys (Penny-approved, obviously)
Cozy hats and dreamy cat beds (made by Kasey)
Curated goodies from other small businesses: candles, jewelry, apparel, home décor
And enough cat-themed joy to make you text someone, “I saw this and thought of your cat” at least three times

Meet Penny, The Real CEO 🐈⬛
Every empire needs a ruler, and Penny wears the crown.
She’s a 12-year-old tortie, adopted from the Humane Society of Broward County, and she’s been Kasey’s ride-or-die for a decade. Eight moves. Countless adventures. One very strong opinion about everything.
She’s talkative. She’s outgoing. She supervises all production like a tiny, judgmental quality control manager.
And yes, she gives final approval on every product.
(If your cat doesn’t like it, Penny might just think your cat has questionable taste.)
The One Thing Kasey Might Not Sell You
Among all the catnip chaos and curated cuteness, there’s one item that tugs at Kasey’s heartstrings:
The crocheted cat caves.
These cozy, enclosed beds are like tiny hobbit holes for cats who want to disappear dramatically for 14 hours. They’re beautiful, handmade by Penny's Mom (Kasey), and—true to cat form—not every cat immediately appreciates them.
But Penny? Obsessed.
Which means Kasey keeps making them… even if part of her secretly wants to keep every single one.
Plot Twist: Former 911 Dispatcher 🚨
Here’s where the story takes a sharp left turn (like a cat at 3 am).
Before going full-time with Penny’s Catnip Club, Kasey worked as a 911 operator and police dispatcher for the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
High stress. Unpredictable days. Real-life chaos.
Now? She channels that same calm-under-pressure energy into entrepreneurship… and wrangling a very opinionated tortie.
In May, she made a bold move: Quit her job. Sold her house. Crossed the state. Bet on herself.
All to build a life centered around creativity, cats, and community.
When She’s Not at The Bazaar…
Kasey is either:
Reading
Thinking about reading
Carrying her Kindle like it’s a vital organ
We’re talking 89 books last year. 152 the year before. Fantasy, sci-fi, romance… if there’s a dragon, a spaceship, or emotional turmoil, she’s in. At this point, it’s less of a hobby and more of an Olympic sport.
The Vibe Check
If you had to sum up Kasey’s philosophy, it would be this:
“Don’t take life too seriously. You’ll never make it out alive.”
Also:
She’s been vegetarian most of her life 🌱
She cares deeply about animal welfare and the environment
She would absolutely choose Penny as her stranded-on-an-island companion
And yes, they would be sharing McDonald’s fries like it’s a five-star meal
Why You’ll Love Penny’s Catnip Club
This isn’t just a vendor. It’s a whole personality.
It’s for:
The people who have full conversations with their cats
The ones who show photos of their pets before their kids
The shoppers who say “I’m just looking” and then leave with three cat-themed items and zero regrets
It’s thoughtful. It’s handmade. It’s full of heart.
And most importantly… it gets it.
Come Say Hi
Next time you’re wandering The Bazaar, follow the trail of cat lovers and soft “awww” sounds. You’ll find Penny’s Catnip Club and probably Kasey, ready to hear all about your cat like it’s the main character of a bestselling novel.
Because let’s be honest…
It is.
