This Saturday, The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime is turning into the grooviest place in Sarasota as we celebrate our 2nd Annual Mrs. Roper's Romp!

If you've ever watched the classic TV show Three's Company, you know that Mrs. Helen Roper wasn't just a landlord. She was a fashion icon. A caftan-wearing, jewelry-stacking, color-loving legend who never met a bold print she didn't like.

The good news? You don't need to search every thrift store in town or online to create the perfect Mrs. Roper look. In fact, you can find almost everything you need right here at The Bazaar.

Step 1: Start with a Fabulous Caftan

The cornerstone of every Mrs. Roper ensemble is a flowy caftan or oversized colorful dress. Think bright florals, bold patterns, vibrant colors, and maximum comfort.

Several of our vendors carry clothing that would make Mrs. Roper proud. The louder the print, the better. The photos above are all currently available at Redux Style inside The Bazaar.

Step 2: More Jewelry is More

Mrs. Roper never stopped at one necklace. Layer chunky beads. Add oversized earrings. Stack bracelets. Then add one more necklace just because.

The Bazaar is filled with handcrafted jewelry from local artists, vintage statement pieces, and tons of fun sparkling costume jewelry, making it easy to build a look that's delightfully over-the-top.

Step 3: Grab a Handbag with Personality

Mrs. Roper wasn't carrying a plain black purse. Look for something colorful, quirky, vintage-inspired, or completely unexpected. The goal isn't matching. The goal is making people smile.

Step 4: Accessorize Like Nobody's Watching

Scarves? Yes.

Oversized sunglasses? Absolutely.

A floppy hat? Why not?

The beauty of Mrs. Roper's fashion is that there are no rules. If it feels fun, wear it and that's the right attitude on How to Dress Like Mrs. Roper.

Step 5: The Wig

The only thing you might have to source elsewhere is the famous red curly wig. But don't worry. We've seen plenty of creative interpretations over the years. Some attendees skip the wig altogether and still capture the spirit of Mrs. Roper perfectly.

The Most Important Part of How to Dress Like Mrs. Roper

Mrs. Roper style isn't really about the outfit. It is about confidence, laughter, and not taking yourself too seriously.

So gather your friends, put on something colorful, and join us this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Mrs. Roper's Romp at The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime In collaboration with Project Pride.

We'll have live music, specialty drinks, guest vendors, a beauty pageant at 2 p.m., and more colorful caftans than Sarasota has probably ever seen in one place.

Come dressed as Mrs. Roper or simply come ready to have fun.

Because if Mrs. Roper taught us anything, it's that life is better when you wear the bright outfit and laugh.
